How to Waiver a Player or Staff Member

Roster waivers are only for players who are participating on a team roster of a different gender or age division than their own. For staff members, this would allow someone to be the head coach of two teams within one event since, by default, a staff member can only be listed as a head coach for one team within an event.

Event roster waivers will not allow you to roster a player or staff member who is missing an AAU or USAV membership verification. If your player or staff member is not showing a green checkmark beside their AAU or USAV number, please contact support for assistance.

Tournament Directors (Non-USAV Events)

To Enable the Waiver Tool:

  1. At the top navigation menu, click Events > Tournament Director.

  2. Click the event name.

  3. In the left-hand menu, under the Event Tools section, click Tools.

  4. Check the Waiver Roster Management box, then click Update.

To Waiver a Player or Staff Member:

  1. At the top navigation menu, click Events > Tournament Director.

  2. Click the event name.

  3. In the left-hand navigation, below Participants, click Teams.

  4. Use the filters to find the team with the staff or player you need to add the waiver to.

  5. Using the team's Roster button, add the desired member and select the checkbox below the Waiver column.

  6. When finished, click Save.

USAV Regional Commissioner's

To waiver a player or staff member for your USAV-affiliated event:

  1. Log into SportsEngine AES with your USAV Regional Commissioner account and access the Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Events and select Regional Commissioner.

  3. Under Views, click Teams.

  4. Filter for the team and event you need to waiver a player or staff member on.

  5. Once you find the correct team and event, click Roster.

  6. Add the player or staff member to the roster.

  7. Check the box in the waiver column for the player or staff member.

  8. When finished, click Save Roster.
